The power of apology: A lesson in healing

When someone tells you how you have hurt them, please accept and apologize. Even if a part of you wants to defend yourself by justifying your actions, don’t. Just accept and apologize, because if you start to defend yourself, you are digging into that person’s wound even deeper. For that person, the hurt they feel from you matters, and only acceptance and apology can help heal or lighten it. Defending yourself in these situations usually doesn’t work and can make the wound go deeper.

(Not explaining too much because you can relate—at some points in life, you have likely felt that a person’s small apology and acceptance could heal you, but when they defended themselves, it made your wounds more deeply painful.)

So, it’s great if you don’t do the same.

Small but effective learning; Enjoy 😊.
